19.Qe2

I like the Rybka 2.2n2 line at 18 ply

[-0.10/18] 19.Qe2 Rfe8 20.Ng5 Bxg2 21.Kxg2 e5 22.g4 hxg4 23.hxg4 Nh6 24.f5 Qe7 25.Ne4

We usurp a lot more space and his knight on f5 gets kicked.

Voting for 18.a4

It stops ...b5 kicking our knight, evaluates better at 18 ply than 18.Rad1 (-0.13 vs -0.15) and we can follow it up with a plot of expansion, with g4, Ne3 and Ng5

Hi all,

Courtesy of an invitation from <Dark_Horse> I am back.... and now with premium access to chessgames.com's Opening Explorer.... which I can see has already been rendered useless

I'll be voting for moves now and then, with guidance from the freeware version of Rybka.

In the Rybka 2.2n2 AN, 28 ... Ng5 did gain some ground on 28 ... Nc6 at 19 ply (-0.15 vs. -0.24). The evidence from other AN points towards 28 ... Ng5 overtaking outright in the mid 20's range of ply.

I will defer to the superior hardware and switch my vote to 28 ... Ng5
