Engine parameter for 'Human' resignation

Hi, I am playing blindfold games vs Hiarcs and games I win last too long (today 60 moves) where comp could have resigned at move 32, a rook endgame 4 pawns down. Does anyone know how can I make the comp resign earlier via engine parameter? I guess my playing strength is way better than my current as...

Re: Display game data (and/or game moves) of Online-Book: H-

Hi, I have a subscription running of the Online book: H-reference by which I seem to get played moves in the position by Humans, along with some preferences (!?, percentages) What I don't know is anything about the games; year played, name or strength of players, etc... Is it possible to see this n...

Database format files

Will let you know if it's finished. :-) In the meantime, I have started slicing Mega2012 in years AND games >2100. I believe that would work for most opponents, and at any rate I can still use CB for others... With the >2100 restriction is year is about 100.000 games, very manageable. And I have fo...

It would if you're after top-games, but I'm not searching those, I want to find games of my next opponent. But you triggered me thinking of another way to split the files, I'll give it a try to split by (sur)name. I could split the Megabase in 26 PGN files, so each file is limited in size, speed is...

Houdini and HCE

With the recent announcement of Houdini available for ChessBase, are we going to be able to use Houdini with HCE? I like comparing evals, it teaches me not to follow blindly program suggestions, since right in front of me I see they differ. It's nice to have things on the Mac and not bother with win...

Hiarcs Database Capabilities

And while thinking about it, I figured that a 'Database window' could be developed to manage databases, what we get now is Macs finder, perhaps a web styled browser of pgn files? Ok, that's only after you have made your first million from Hiarcs sales :) :) And again, that's possibly one of CB weake...

Hiarcs Database Capabilities

Continuing with my testing, I converted the Mega 2012 of CB to pgn (didnot, stopped at 2.5 Million games). Even this pgn file got the message 'too large for Hiarcs'. So what's the limit and why? It seems I have found a real reason for the CBH format.. (I knew it was much more efficient in terms of s...

Insert variation (forced)

While inputting a game of mine I am missing a useful CB feature they took a while to implement, that of beginning a variation with the same move as in the game, typically used to analyse the final position of a game that was not played out... So I guess this is kind of a feature request, or if it is...
