Thanks for your response Mark! You are right. The board options are possible in all cases when the option in the dropdown menu is selected. Regarding the Recent databases list I was aware of the 'Recent Databases' option but I meant a database that can be opened as default when starting the program....

Finally done it!!! The purchase was a breeze and I am really happy at the speed of the program. There are some areas of improvement but I think it will evolve into a top notch program very soon. The license is for personal use of HIARCS Chess Explorer. Provided the software is used only by you for personal use then that is ok. If your sons are children then including them sounds ok.
