When I click File then New, I am not given the new database dialog box. Nothing happens and I cannot create the new database. I am using Mac OSX 10.9.2

What should I do?

I am going to buy HIARCS Mac Chess Explorer. Will it be possible to upgrade it to Deep HIARCS Mac Chess Explorer when I wish to ?
