[A small bug?] Mac version - tapping

Since the last build I have noticed weird things happening when I try to set a custom position on the board. It happens when I use a touchpad on a Macbook for right-click [two finger tap] - instead of getting the same figure of the opposite colour I get what it seems to be a random figure of the sam...

Looking forward for 1.6!

Macbook Air (late 2011, I5 1.7 GHz, 4 GB RAM, HD 3000) having also the movement issue. OS fully updated with HCE v1.5.1. (if it helps for statistics or anything).

Since this is online book, maybe sometimes there are connection/server problems with it. I would advice to switch to local books when it happens and cross fingers they improve servers soon. :)

Small thing: would be nice that HIARCS remembers last used opening book. Apparently, it chooses local opening book as default. It is a small inconvenience to change it to GM+ all the time. I understand there may be some reasons for that (like no internet connection when local opening book is always ...

Mark, I would look at it the other way, I went looking for HIARCS on the iPad because I owned HCE on the Mac. To me it is an extension of HCE in a sense as the quality and user experience is similar. Will any chess program be the next Angry Birds, probably not. So you are competing agains a bunch o...

To delete the last move, you need to navigate back a move, then right-click on that move and choose Remove Next Moves. It would be easier if you just hit the Delete button to remove the last move. I prefer deleting from a point forwards which is the current method, it seems the most logical way imh...

As for the second part that would actually be great. Just that the program remembers all the databases open and after you shut it down and launch again it shows exactly the same screen. :D

Dunno how to do the first point though...

Dear Mark thank you for your comprehensive answer. In fact, I totally did not realise all the processes behind the long loading time. Your arguments convinced me how wrong I was. I would for 1000 times also prefer faster working times than the loading times. 1) I will write the E-mail with screensho...

Actually, you may be right. By working slow I meant mainly the loading time. I have tried once an imported database which was opening like 90 seconds or more, but aftewards maybe it worked faster. Still, the move statistics showed after a few seconds delay. Sorry, I did not try working with it again...

It works perfectly on Mountain Lion anyway.

And Nolan, do not worry about needing to get the money back. HIARCS has the best customer service and I am sure they will solve the problem for you. Try to send E-mail to hiarcs@hiarcs.com - maybe you will get faster response.

1. When copying a game to an open database save it (prompt?) as a new game instead of replace opened one by default. I have already replaced a few games by copying a new game to add it to the database - really annoying, but maybe I handle it wrong. 2. Save a game to a selected database (not only cur...

Transfering Deep HCE mac opening book to HIARCS iPhone

Is there any way to do it? I have transfered the Hiarcs14bBook.hcs (someone posted "d" [newer?] version before) file to iPhone Hiarcs, but apparently it only recognises .hbg files (successful update from here: http://www.hiarcs.com/chess-opening-book-free.htm). Is there any way to get/conv...
