Hello yoyo_chessboard, I do not have a 6120. I know that the 6120 tech was combined with the 6100 to get the 6124 and 6126. I just found it odd that the play strength on both was supposed to be the same but the daughterboard on the 6124 is slower than the 6120 boards. I don't have a 6126 to see its ...

I was hoping that this thread would have continued. I was to trying to identify which board on my chesster phantom is running the chess program. The reduced number of levels available from the listed earlier 6100 levels make me think that the chesster piggyback board is running the chess program and...

Milton Bradley Phantom Upgrade?

Looking at early manuals gives a lot of insight on related machines. On reviewing the MB Phantom users manual from: http://www.zanchetta.net/default.aspx?Categorie=ECHIQUIERS&Page=documentations Select Autres - Others, then MB Phantom I found on the last page. "Phantom is a tough chess oppo...

On moving Chesster Phantom, I had a lockup. Obviously, I still have a loose connection, most likely the power feed itself. Will track this weekend. On going over the boards and component pictures, I am surprised that any units still work. 9VAC input with no ground, Half wave rectifiers pulling a pul...

Probably due to volatile memory. Some machines can store active games or data as long as the battery holds out. These continually draw power even with the switch off. This constant and continuous draw increases the chance of the depleted batteries leaking.

Chesster Phantom 6126 or 6124 question

The manuals state that when the automatic clear or re-setup are taking place, [NO/STOP] can be pushed to allow the task to be manually done more quickly. This seems to be disabled on my machine. I thought I used it years ago, but I'm not sure of that. Stop works as specified on all other listed func...

Loaded the problem into the Fidelity 6124 set on infinite level. It quickly chose the Rxa5 as its preferred move. Went to ply display 10 A or move 16 at ply 10 after 3 hours and is still choosing Rxa5 as its move. Giving up.

Adding a PS.. to my earlier Post. It makes you wonder if any old Phantom would play just fine without a Display. After all it is just a Display that responds to the sensors on the board and the control keys? You might not even need a functioning Display to play them. The display on all the Fidelity...

Just re-soldered my 6124 Chesster Phantom this weekend. I bought it new(demo) as non-stock in a Miami store that sold upper-end unusual items. It had initialization issues from the start as well as some hangs but for the price it was still a keeper. On examination I found about twelve cold solder jo...

You need to open the back. Single screw and disc will rotate clockwise to line tabs with holes. This allows you to see the board. Do not touch the circuit. They are CMOS and can be destroyed by static. Read the large chips and the crystal (oval metal can). Internet data says the Milton Bradley used ...
