Hi, Human nature being what it is what about the spoofing of names that might happen in this new non Rybka room Regards I think spoofing of names can be dealt with. Do people really want to risk being guested and losing their serial number? But i think policing who is using only 1 core is more of a...

If I were Mark, Frans, Amir, I wouldn't feel all that great knowing that my engine runs only in Patzer's room. Enrique Hi shy Enrique, this is of course a point I haven't considered that far. Nevertheless most of the authors have beta testers and see their programs still being tested in official ra...

I have voted no. I wonder what would happen if for example a new program was released in say 6 months time that can actualy beat rybka and becomes the new number one. Would you get every one playing this new program in the engine room leading to the same position we have with rybka. Do we then ban ...

Hi Oh Shy One, You referred to fun as the reason. That the reason is the fun of playing with multiple different engines. Well if the fun is the reason then all the people you believe they would join the non-Rybka room should just a simple thing: load this non-Rybka engine into current room..... Hi G...

If it's a rating matter and you suggest that the non-Rybka room will have its own rating so you can try to achieve a good rating without having Rybka around, then this is pathetic. :D You referred to fun as the reason. That the reason is the fun of playing with multiple different engines. Well if t...

Re: Playchess Engine Room.
It took me a split second to answer "no". A second room would also mean, to me, second division. Like leaving Rybka as a no contest best, and all the also run engines joining in second room, fed up with Rybka's superiority. Like conceding defeat without hopes for new engines to ever defeat...

If we had the money($500,000+) to arrange a match we would bet on Palm Hiarcs to beat any super GM. There we are again. :) I still like better the idea of an engine running on a laptop giving a simultaneous exhibition against the 4 highest rated players in the world. For a more realistic setup with...

Larry's quad is much faster than any machine used for any other man v machine matches. Fritz v Kramnik was the last one and this was on a dual. Larry's quad is only a little bit faster than the quad used for the Fritz vs. Kramnik match (which was also played under a huge handicap favoring Kramnik, ...

Re: Kasparov is back!
When Kasparov retired from competition chess, he said he would participate in simultaneous exhibitions. This event doesn’t mean a comeback.Harvey Williamson wrote:http://www.gpa.cz/exkluzivni-produkty.php?lang=en
Although when you read about the word champ it sounds like he is playing a Scrabble simul.

There is something perfectly tragic about this reply by Fischer in the interview published in CCD 1984. Enrique Do you ever start thinking of other things during a game? Does your mind wander? “I have asked a lot of players that question,” Fischer replied, “and many of them have that problem. Their ...

Hi Enrique, Before I left work the last thing I read on the wires was that it was suspected that he died of Kidney failure - although this had not been confirmed. Best Wishes, Harvey yes from the USCF : http://main.uschess.org/content/view/8122/431 Steve Thanks, Steve. Like most of us, I don’t real...
