I just got the email too. They are on some poorman's kickstarter site and say Japan is buying in. Did they do a live demo for the Japanese? I thought they would've had a link in the email. My only thought is they are trying to capitalize on the world wide quarantine. A working Regium would be great ...

That's my one complaint about Millennium: Their websites are so convoluted and confusing. They've got the shop site. They've got the Millennium mfg site. They've got sites for individual products and manuals. Then they have some other way to download updates. It's crazy. Millennium needs to get thei...

The Regium project really has been a catalyst getting DGT into the game and now the LiChess API.

I missed Gentle's deleted post and don't get his second post about flat earthers. I really don't see how Mad Mike the Daredevil crashing while filming Homemade Astronauts for the Science Channel ties into the Regium controversy. My point was that the tech seemed plausible, Chess24, .com and other to...

The most befuddling thing about all this is why anyone would scam chess geeks, if this really is a scam, which has yet to be confirmed. Seems like a pretty niche market. I just don't see the motivation either. Super niche market, $50,000 score, probably cost them 15 to 20,000 to produce the CGI dem...

I don't know the Regium still looks legit to me. The video of the guy playing on the coffee table looks real and their new video with excuses for doctoring the demo video seem plausible. I got their kickstarter email this morning and $650 seems like a sweet price for something like this. I can't bel...

Ossi, I've got a suggestion for you guys, it would be great it the King Performance was battery powered. I've got the Exclusive and King Module and love it but hate the wires. If the King Performance was able to be battery powered by an internal battery, I would buy one for the convenience of being ...

I like to play and train with the DGT Centaur. That's exactly what it was made for. Switch on and start playing. I totally agree with Benny. I have both the Millennium Exclusive and DGT Centaur and been playing the DGT almost exclusively since I got it. If you're into playing and training, the DGT ...

This board looks amazing. In the past, I didn't get the obsession over robot/auto boards. They all seemed so lame: moving ugly skinny pieces at a snail's pace, noisy and prone to breakage. This Regium is a game changer in auto boards. I actually want this over the DGT eboard I was considering. I kno...

Apparently I won too. My Exclusive's xmas sweaters came in yesterday evening. I thought there would only be one winner. Once Steve B won I thought it was over. If you flip the sweater card over you see that there are 50 winners. I am 41/50. I was hoping the drawing would be for a King Performance bu...

Saitek Renaissance/Leonardo/Galileo

Nice big wooden board and pieces, great modules available and the OSA computer link and scripting language is phenomenal to play with and program.

For plastic, the Fidelity Maser 2325 with Spracklen and the briefcase was dope.

I thought they were drawing for Exclusives and Performances. What a let down.

The price of the Volt seems in line with other power packs but the practicality of it is lame.

An Exclusive with a King or standard element plus the Volt is going to be massively unwieldy and not very portable. Just a messy web of cables.

I like my Exclusive but won't be getting the Volt.

Millenium / HIARCS Chess Explorer

What exactly does this mean. Will my Exclusive now interface with HIARCS database on my PC like a DGT eboard? This would be nice. I need to see a demo of how this works. New Link to HIARCS Chess Explorer the HIARCS Chess Explorer now works with the MILLENNIUM ChessLink! So you can use the software o...

Re: Tips for decent dedicated machines

I would like to get my hands on a stronger dedicated -- preferably from the early-to-mid '90s. It seems like stronger machines are in short supply, however, and when they are offered on eBay they command an absurdly (imho) steep price. Any ideas for a stronger dedicated machine that is not prohibit...
