Some of these old EPROM dumps are freely available HERE , though I do not see Vancouver for 68030 processor (perhaps it is the same as the 68020 version, who knows). Download the necessary ROM image and find someone who has an EPROM programmer and is able to burn the image into a proper EPROM chip, ...

Most likely the adaptor (or its cable/connector) is the guilty. Have you got a multimeter? You should check whether the adaptor is working correctly: plug the adaptor in the wall socket, and simply measure the output voltage on the low voltage plug (without plugging it in the machine). Can you measu...

Looking for a Novag Chess Clock
I would like to buy a working Novag Chess Clock, which can be connected to the old Novag boards (SS IV, Super Constellation, etc). Please send me a PM if you have an offer.

which dedicated computer for a little champion?
Dear All, chess is started to interest my six-year-old son recently (and as far as I see, he is a decent player for his age - today he won a gold medal at a local contest among 6-10 year old kids, and he was the youngest one). I am trying to choose the suitable coach machine for him - which dedicate...

10x2mm M35 neodymium magnet discs are just perfect for Leonardo/Renaissance boards (and for Elite A/S too). They are not too weak and not too strong. This is my personal experience, so just buy them. However I suggest to install them in a nice weighted Staunton set (made of wood), which is match to ...

Elite A/S Challenger - which variant?
I recently swapped couple of chess computers with a local collector, and among others I got a Fidelity Elite A/S Challenger, but I do not know its variant (Budapest, Glasgow, or something else)? It speaks German, but does not say its variant when I power it up, just the usual "Hallo, ich bin de...

a soldering gun with electrical cord is a must (battery operated soldering pen is sh!t!!? Both of them are shit. Do not use soldering gun or a battery (or propane gas) operated soldering iron - they are the elephant in the porcelain store. They will ruin your boards with their uncontrolled heat. Bu...

So my fellow surgeons, what reed switches do you use? where do you get them? I was doing research and they are so different. Any in particular that I should use? Thanks for any advice. Hi Mike, I have bought and successfully used these particular reed switches . The patient was a Conchess Ambassado...

Sparc is a good module, it cost me an arm and a leg when I got Renaissance with Sparc module, so good luck in your auction. Pleased I did though because my other Renaissance houses Brute Force. As time passes, I started to feel uneasy about the Renaissance board. The Sparc module is just a fancy th...

Re: Saitek Renaissance chess computer with Sparc module
I can only say that if I were going to spend a lot of money on this I would want a quick demonstration that the module is working in the board no fancy vidoes are needed..perhaps just a screen shot of a level setting that only the Sparc module has and not the program built into the Ren board Level ...

Re: Saitek Renaissance chess computer with Sparc module
The auction is a bit confusing the seller must have the power supply as he says the Sparc module is working ..but at the same time he is not including the power supply in the auction ?? does he have the power supply? if not ..then how does he know that the module is working? if he does..why not inc...
