I believe tournament matches between programs should be about the 'software'; hardware (and other outside influences) should not be a factor. I guess they should also be played with neutral books? Thanks for the nice coverage, and congratulations with with Hiarcs results. Like last year it looks like Hiarcs will do very well and must be among the favorites to give Rybka a run for her life. Thank you Harvey for posting that CB guy's reply (was that Mathias, the programmer of the GUI?) I always knew that Rybka is a memory hog on 8 cores, but I didn't make real tests. There are 2 ways to save memory. I use only 1 MB for TB cache - TBs are on solid state disks, so no cache is necessary. ...
