Yes, I have Hiarcs 12. I was wondering if there were any updates I've missed, or if there are any hints about a new engine.

Are there any plans for a 64-bit version of HIARCS? Sounds like it would be a lot of work, but I thought I'd ask.

What's new with HIARCS

I've been away for a while, but I'm back.

I'm in the process of spec'ing out a couple of new PCs, so I'll probably start getting back into computer chess.

What's up with HIARCS? Is it still making progress? I hope so.

HIARCS 12 MP is second to a bunch of you-know-who...

I'm happy with HIARCS' performance. It still has its own style, and to be honest, the only programs that gave it some difficulties were Rybka, Naum, and Fritz. Shredder kept the match close, but H12 prevailed. Thanks, Mark and team! Time control is 4+2. Opening test sets include Noomen 2006, 2007, a...

Re: Hiarcs, Rybka, Fritz, Shredder etc.

Why are these fantastic chess programs all developed by non-Americans? Is it the same reason that there has only been one true World Chess Champion born in the USA? Why are there no native born female American chess players of GM strength/ or chess programers of note? Rybka has a IM female assistin...

I think we can take both paths. We can speak well of him and remember him well from his incredible chess, and at the same time denounce his insane beliefs and declarations that he made in contexts usually completely unrelated to the game. This forum is to discuss chess and chess related subjects. O...

I just want to get the chess engine world balanced - having one engine that is head and shoulders above the competition is kind of dull.

I'd like to have 5 or 6 top programs (with differing styles) within 25 Elo of each other. For me, that would bring things back to life.

Hi Erik, Well all the other parameters are visible, but those regarding UCI Limit strength. Strange ? Thanks anyway. Best Regards Henrik Very odd. Have you done an update on your F11 GUI recently? The update I received from Chessbase support really messed up my UCI engines installed in F11. Have yo...

Re: HIARCS under Fritz 11

I just noticed that it is no longer possible to adjust the playing strength for HIARCS under the parameter settings within the Fritz 11 GUI. Is it only me or does anybody else experienced this? Best Regards Henrik No. I use the F11 GUI and have HIARCS 11.2 MP UCI installed. Last night, I played vs....

Ok here is what I can tell you for now about the next release of Junior. The next release will be made by ICC. They will soon release a UCI version of Junior 10.1 and then after that a brand new version.

Best Wishes,

Harvey
