Re: Saitek Kasparov Brute Force

Hi Josef - thank you for the interesting series of games with the Saitek Brute Force module. Well, it is a strong module for Saitek's beautiful large wooden boards. I hope to find a Sparc module someday, but maybe it is not much stronger than the Brute Force module. I may be in Prague during early ...

Re: Commodore 64 VICE emulator

Another program by the well-known programmer Richard Lang, has very nice controls (probably the best of all the programs listed) and nice graphics. It is a bit weaker than Colossus, but still a good chess program for the time (1986).

Re: Commodore 64 VICE emulator

If we compare Sprackles's Sargon III and M.Bryant's Colossus program, I have to say that M.Bryant did a much better job. His program is clearer, has better control and significantly higher ELO.

Re: Commodore 64 VICE emulator

I played with Sargon III, Test 3 again, this time on a real Commodore C64 C and set Level 3. As you can see, the result is a bit better, but no glory. I then loaded up Colossus Chess 4, which was top of the line in its day, and the result is significantly better. . Sargon3_Commodore.jpg Colossus_Com...

Commodore 64 VICE emulator

I was reminiscing a bit about the days of Sargon III and the Spracklen husbands. It was an exciting time for me, by this time, I had been working in computer manufacturing for two years :) VICE Emulator https://vice-emu.sourceforge.io/ Sargon III http://www.c64.cz/index.php?detailhry=6432 Manual Sar...

Re: DGT 25th anniversary e-Board - only 50 pcs

You're right. A bit cluttered, and in the long run, the skin isn't very good to play with, but for casual play it's fine. If I take a Centaur or a Pegasus, the chessmen run on the board like oil :) But it's a special piece, and the few pieces worldwide will make it a sought-after collector's piece i...

DGT 25th anniversary e-Board - only 50 pcs

What do you think of this chessboard? Is it so special and probably nothing like it will ever be made that it is worth having in your collection?

Re: New DGT Pegasus online chess board

I use Ed mods for Centaur, and I am satisfied, Centaur works as Pegasus and as eBoard also for UCI engines, so it is a universal solution.

Re: Acid Ape Chess Grandmaster Edition - Review

I tested the Acid Ape GE program with DGT Revelation II today, and it works fine. You need to buy the driver for DGT in the application, which costs 60 EUR, three times more than the program itself. A bit strange, however, those who want it will pay for it.
