You have to update OS at your device up to 2003 version, otherwise almost any chess program would not work on it... The Dell Axim X5 is from 2002, I had a similar iPaq 3950 from same era and remember having Pocket Fritz 2 and Pocket GrandMaster installed on it. Pocket Fritz 1 will also work but I’m not sure about the later PF3 and PF4. If you do some digging on the Shredder Chess home page you should get to down...

I have played 960 and really like it, no theory to study makes booking up on your opponent pointless

A much better move than b5-f5 (Rf5+) is c2-h2 (Qh2) which leads to fast win

Only 2 moves win Ke4 or Kf4, I remember that Fritz 1 was quite weak in endgames so guess some rook move?

I am going to speculate that a dedicated chess computer will be able to play Chess 960.

Okay something weird is happening if computers are making Mate in 4 announcement. Well kudos to Mephisto Master for finding 1.Ne4 but it is not a mate in 4 but should be saying Mate in 6 :oops: I must have double pressed 'enter' button. Just one slight difference in the software is that the Monaco only has 16 levels and SciSys Express has 17. The extra level is a mate solving level H.
