Thanks for the advice guys. I'll go for the chessbase app and chess genius.
It's all a little too late, as I'm getting a cheap Archos/Arnova G2 7 to supplement my Ipad 2, I can't really complain, can I??

Andriod Chess on a Gingerbread Tablet
Hi All,
I notice there has been a couple of Android discussion on the forum.
As an Xmas gift I'm getting an Andriod Tablet running gingerbread OS.
Can someone tell me what the best chess program is for playing over games and pgn files with nested variations?
All the best,
NK

Plans for Pocket Fritz?
With the demise of Windows 6.5, does anyone know what the plan is for the next version of Pocket Fritz? It's a great program, but as I'm due to change my mobile phone I can't get another WinMo 6.5 phone. I don't want to lose the facilities PF4 offers, in particular, DVD access and native use of Ches...

At the risk of starting up a critical thread.... Pocket Fritz is wonderful. What Tsukrov has done is way beyond the call of duty for a chessplaying program for a phone. Don't forget guys, it's a mobile phone you are running a powerful version of Fritz on. With chessbase cbh and DVD compatability it'...

I'd like to add my personal thanks to all the hard work which as gone on for Pocket Fritz 3. PF2 was, in many ways, a disappointment in terms of support. PF3, however, is the best piece of mobile software I've ever seen. Any ideas I had of buying an I-phone have now gone out of the window. Thanks, S...

Stas.... posting the update just before Christmas day... ;-) It sneaked under my radar while I was *trying* to play Wii Chess (bought by my other half!). Thanks for the update, which I am downloading now. P.s. Should there not be more publicity for PF3 on the official chessbase web site? I have not ...

While Tsukrov is around I'd like to point out a small 'bug' in PF 3.1, and that is when watching Chess Media on the phone, the default condition for the phone switches the backlighting off at regular intervals (whatever the phone is set to) due to the fact that no key has been pressed on the phone. ...

I'd like to say... seriously well done for PF3. Its truly IMHO a 'killer app' for chess players. It really is that good. I would like to ask a couple of questions, however: 1.Could you give us 'back' the standard piece set from Pocket Fritz 2? I really liked it, and feel it's better than the choices...
