This position is now part of the Arasan Chess Test Suite!! .The new program Deep Hiarcs 13.2 does much better than Chessmaster 9000 on this position , requiring a mere 32 minutes 46 seconds on my Dual Core 1.83 Notebook. It needs 24 plys vs the 18 that Chessmaster needed but it gets there much faster :

Komodo 3!

Post by sockmonkey »

Komodo 3, my new favorite analysis engine, finds it (comparably) quickly. My hardware isn't anything to boast about, and K3 is SP, anyhow. At d=24, it moves on from h3 to Rxh5. Took about 10 minutes on my Core i7 (running in a Parallels VM on a Mac laptop).

Code: Select all

With Stockfish 2.0.1 on a MacPro 3.33Ghz / 6 cores (2010 model), it takes about 5s at level "Game in 30 min" to focus and stick on the Rxd5 variation.

Average node/s was about 5 millions.
Looking for a nice Fidelity EAG or A/S and a Odin Encore. Please send me a private message.

Yep, Stockfish found it at d=19 after just a few seconds. Nice.

Critter 1.2 needs about 5 minutes on my cell phone to find and stick with 40.Rxd5 and finds it at D=19.
