After getting permission to bid from Australia I was
very briefly the highest bidder. The seller did'nt describe the unit as
a USCF, and the badge was rather obscured in the photo. I thought
that was a good sign, and I might make a killing. It was'nt to be.
The collectors have sharp eyes for detail... 60 bids!.
I was hoping to get in with a last minute killer bid of low $200's, but
then of course these things are heavy and the shipping cost across
oceans is a deterrent nowadays.
The wooden Fidelity's are definitely in fashion.

Yeah i was watching the USCF auction also
the interesting thing about the USCF SE is that it was bundled with the Impact printer and offered to members of the USCF at a special combined price
so we see the Impact printer is missing
i had a good laugh watching this one bidder over several days ..placing something like 45-50 ..2 dollar increment bids ..in the hopes of getting it at the cheapest possible price..all to see someone else come out of the blue and take it away

i mean who has the time to sit there and place 45-50 bids for days on end?
i guess it could be the seller shilling up the price but as in the EAS auction and its ridiculous price of $2700..45-50 shill bids by the same bidder is just too way over the top and "in your face" for a seller to be behind it..IMHO
personally when i see something i want..and there are no bidders yet ..i place an initial bid to try to keep the seller from closing early..(some sellers will feel guilty about "going around Ebay" if there are bidders in place) then i place my maximum bid using a Proxy bidding service
if there are bidders already.. then i simply place my maximum bid through a proxy bidding service and forget about the auction until it closes
i win i win..i lose i lose

Someone on e-bay wants to change the rules " sellers can not bid". That sounds fair.

butt out and let the auction run it's course. They can't stop people
from getting relatives or friends in another city to place bids just to
push the price up. Goes on all the time.
