During the bidding, I contacted the seller and asked if that was another
Mephisto laptop in the background of the picture. Yep, it was, a BerlinPro,
but not for sale. He said he had a Milano Pro coming up soon, bare board
but working fine, buy-it-now for GBP55.
But getting to the price of this thing, the seller is no doubt a happy
camper... GBP411...!! No lid, unoriginal black pieces, he thought, and
no box . It does have instructions. Meanwhile there's an Atlanta hanging on German
ebay buy-it-now for Euro599 with a lid and manual. Mint condition, the
seller reliably informs me.
Maybe the Berlin 68000 is borderline rare, you don't see many, but for
an extra $144 I got a Berlin Pro with original pieces, adaptor (non original)
a lid and owner's manual in several languages.
Ebay is a fickle place...
