Collector's Corner..What Does A collector Do In A Blizzard?

Post by Steve B »

Why he sets up a 3 game mini-match testing the mettle of the newest addition to the collection of course
if the new addition does not pass this test(at least draw the match)..it is sent on its way ..exiled to the hinterlands of the north

CXG released Morsch's Dominator program in several models
this model is very unusual as it was released in a CXG 3008 board
more common models equipped with the Dominator program are the Sphinx Galaxy or the Sphinx Dominator
Selective Search bestows and elo of 1866 on the Program in the Commander

A suitable opponent is the Novag Ruby clocking in at 1879
Ruby was the 3rd installment in the "Calculator" Style portable computer that proved very successful for Novag

In The Game...
Commander was Out Of Book First at move 7..Ruby at move 11
Both computers sought to liquidate quickly leaving the Ruby up a P with Q's still on the board
after 15-20 moves of shuffling pieces Ruby allows a repetition of the position

Hi Steve, While you are enjoying your latest addition, I am still waiting
for mine, although it's not running late as yet. I won it on Friday.
Here it is:
http://my.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... =1&guest=1

Note the price!..not many bidders on chess comps down here.
I did'nt have much interest in it at first, but on closer examination
I noticed it has a light for each square, and is auto sensory. To top it
off it has a Richard Lang program. It's playing strength is modest, because
of a very weak processor, but still it will be a joy to use.
It's another machine I did not know existed.
Keep those games coming in, they are fun to run through. Instead of
snow down here, we've got fairly warm weather, just turned the air
conditioner off now (it's 7:30pm).

Hi Larry
thats it.. rub it in
:P

your link dosent work
i will try to guess the computer you won
Hmmm
weak Lang Program in an auto sensory
must be something with his Cyrus program
plastic no doubt
i go with CXG Chess 2001

if you have one of his Cyrus programs in a wooden auto-sensory then you
have a really rare L'Emperour or TSB IV La Regence
in that case..would you please send it to me?
with this terrible storm..the snow piling up way past the windows
power out.i'm cold and hungry
as i fade away ..it could make my last days on earth happy ones ..knowing the computer is on the way to me.

Shameless Regards

a brilliant Miniature by Ruby
Commander is out of book at move 9
Ruby at move 10
Commander with black accepts the Q's Gambit p
Ruby forgoes 0-0 to attack the exposed Black K after it 0-0 into an open g file
At move 20 it sacks its Q resulting in an irresistible attack
netting it a R and 2p's for nothing

Hi Steve, not sure why my link would not work for you, hope this
link works. Sadly, it's not the wooden one:

Game Three
Ruby is out of Book First at move 6.. Commander move 7
A Rather strange game
White is saddled with tripled pawns as early as move 11!
Ruby manages to win one of the pawns but
for the second time in 3 games allows a repetition of the position while a P ahead

Commander loses the match 1-2 and fails to quality as an official member of the collection
as a result i offered it two places to be sent for exile
Siberia or Valhalla
it took one look out of the window and replied that there was undoubtedly less snow anywhere else then here so it was more then happy to leave

Siberia Bound Regards
