Item number above - check it out and look closely at the board - I am not an expert AT ALL but it looks like this board is roughed vinyl and , if I am not mistaken, the real cc3 had a smooth and more reflective surface.
Plus the pieces are plastic and not wood.
Were there cc7's that had this appearance ? (same board layout and design)
Can someone who knows clear this up for me - I refrained from bidding because of what I noticed.
Item sold for 48 + shipping FYI
Thanks
Sold on ebay just now CC3 ? or NOT !!

Seems normal to me.
If you have a close look at the board, it is reflective, ie, the pieces are
showing a mirror image of themselves.
Note where it says "Three levels of play", it is not written on a red sticker
but is part of the box outer label, suggesting this was a late production
run unit.
Hard to tell if the pieces are wood or plastic to me.
The price seems about right...
Larry
PS Just editing my post... looked at my CC3 and it is in fact a gloss
surface. My CC7 is a rough surface, like the CC3 in the auction.
I've got a CC7 with a wooden frame, made in Chicago. It seems that
later on, in Florida, they switched to the rough surface. The seller does
not give a shot of the serial number. Still no need to doubt the
originality of the unit.

Thanks Larry
Kind of you to answer my post !!
On a side note, Would this forum be interested in my results and games against the king 3.33 running on XBOX (original), I had 3 draws and 2 wins vs the GM's in the "Nuremburg" tournament (out of 5 games finshing second with a performance of 2860). Quite an accomplishment for me eventhough the program was a bit hampered by some of the personalities.
I notice most of the posts are computer vs computer but I like to get my hands dirty. Defending human honor when I can. I am a retired master from USCF. Highest rating was 2310.
I don't know how to enter a diagram with game on this site - is there a faq on how to do it ?
Well, thanks again for reponding
Hopefully hear from you again,
Mike

Re: Thanks Larry
Hi Mike, To make a FEN diagram, press the "FEN" button on the menuQueegmeister wrote: I don't know how to enter a diagram with game on this site - is there a faq on how to do it ?
above, then write out the diagram like this:
K7/8/8/8/8/8/8/k7
the "FEN" button has to be pressed immediately before and after
the diagram to make it work, and with no spaces between the "FEN"
and the diagram text.
Note that it is upper case for white and lower case for black. Give it
a try.
all the best,
Larry
PS Here is the above FEN position as a diagram:
[fen]K7/8/8/8/8/8/8/k7[/fen]

Hi Mike,
Welcome, this is predominately a chess computer forum, therefore you will mostly see games and discussions centered around chess computers. But people do post their games here as well from to time to time which they have played against a computer. Therefore you are welcome to do so.
Chessmaster 10 on the XBox is a very strong program therefore it is very impressive that you can beat the program.
Best regards,
Nick
