My friend , which luckily had the module needed - does not live far from me.
well- 100 miles -

I thought it would take a few days for him to locate and get it to me but he was quick. I really appreciated it and I managed to get a ride to pick it up since I can't drive anymore , have to use planes, trains and whatever.

Brought the machine with me and he installed the module - it is very easy but I did not want to do it , he has better eyes. It was good and sad to see him again.

Actually he monitors this site (for something to stay connected to chess ) and and called me to give me the good news about having the module.

So, after all the anticipation I had to play (actually he gave it a whirl to show me the ins and outs too) then I played and we had some reminiscing
which was very enjoyable.

He is a collector like you only to a much lesser degree. he has almost no use to keep his stash now as he has cancer and does not have the energy to play chess. Quite the player in his day.

Actually my genie in the lamp produced it for me.

Starting another guessing game regards - he was a MASTER too LOL

Do you ever sleep regards ?

My draw with Spock rated 3000

Post by Queegmeister »

This was a g/30 - I used 12 minutes to the Quad-Core 2.4ghz 4 GB Ram Chessmaster with hash tables on Computer Meth - using 28 minutes.

No take-backs and this personality beat the tar out of Chessmaster and then reeled off 2 more draws all at g/20

I arrived at Spock's rating by seeing the CM rated at 2970 - since Spock beat it...

The position is a draw but Spock chooses to torture me for another 70 moves but I hung in there and presented no opening for it to win - not my style of a game and maybe boring - but what else can you do against such a BEAST !!

I provide the complete game for those who wish to share in my torment and ultimate triumph in neutralizing this monster.

Re: Position from Amsterdam

Queegmeister wrote:I would like to see if you can solve this chess position I reached against against an IM in Amsterdam Secondary Tournament - I won the game - can't find the score unfortunately - I don't know if any record of the secondary tournament remains.

the Game position is from 1956 - the main tournament was the candidates tournament which Smyslov Won with 11.5/18

Now you will see something amazing.......... I was playing Black and it is Black to play and win by a crushing combination classic 40/2.5 time control
