Hello

Post by Sargon1972 »

Hello All,

Some will know me for many years  others not
I am a "humble"Collector from the Netherlands
Mine interest began when i was +- 9 years old and i did get the Mondial that was mine very first chess computer with i still have , then i did buy the Turbo King,Academy ,and this one period i did meet Jan Louwman and from that period i bought many chess computers by him.
Polgar with TK 20 on 18mhz and the Tournament machine Vancouver and some more
I only Collect the ones I like, so 2 same programs in 2 different companies i do not collect
As well I have +- 100 pieces were I am proud of :D

Here a link to a list , but that one is +- 3 a 4 years old, so many did come and few did go
http://www.schaakcomputers.nl/diversen/ ... 20Hans.pdf
still i must update it, under construction

I play in the users tournament in Leiden Netherlands, also i played in Klingenberg Germany and Kaufbeuren Germany, also i did played 2 x in Saints in France

Also as each collector i am still searching for some units, don,t we all :?
I wrote some articels together with Rob van Son for Selective Search and i wrote/write for the Dutch CSVN ( chesscomputer magazine)
In Leiden i did meet again Ed Schröder and from him i bought a "rare" computer the only WC Portorose machine 1992/93 with TK 20 on 16MHz later produced als MM V
The funny when u start up it says no play but CHES ,also u can change the selectivity wich u can not with the normal MM V and some more stuff is on it,also it has a WC Book made by J.Noomen , with white it plays only d4 with black against e4,d4,c4,NC3,N f3 , c6

Well for now that will be i think

Hi Alain,

In your download manuals section choosing anything other than Fidelity does not seem to work for me any more under your "Choisissez la marque/
Select a maker" I am wondering if it is just me or has the pop-down link to other manufacturers a fault?

Regards
Nick

Hi Nick,
you are not the only one to have this problem, I also have it... but I thought that I was the only one to still use Internet Explorer ;-)
With IE, you have to click on the shredded paper icon ("Compatibility View") on the right of the address bar to have the popup work again.

But thank you for remembering me this defect : I'll try to fix that in a few days.

Thanks again,
Best regards,
Alain

Hello Hans, Sorry if I am being nosey, but when you say some will
know you for many years, I was prompted to do a search. I found two
people by your name. One was a Dutch politician who passed away
in 2010. I hope you are not that one. :(
The other one is a senior engineer at 'Jet NV'. Am I right in assuming
that is you?
This forum has a fairly small number of regular posters, and we are
always on the lookout for people who will help us make dedicated chess
computer collecting enjoy a resurgence.
all the best to you,
Larry
