Just to keep you interested - I have a recent speed game where I sac queen and win on move 8

Blackmar-Diemer gambit trap

White - Me Black : unknown internet player (expert)

1. d4 d5 2. Nc3 c6 3. e4 dxe4 4. Bc4 Nf6 5. f3 exf3 6. Nxf3 Bg4 ? 7. Ne5 ! Bxd1 ?? 8. Bxf7# 1-0

If Black declines Queen, he gets a bad game after Be6 only move ,Bxe6,fxe6 - - after Bh5 ... Qxh5 ... winning

CRUSHING THE RS 2250xl

[WhiteELO "2300"]
[BlackELO "2060"]
[WhiteTitle "IM"]

{Sacrificial Orgy and crush of computer with gambit}
1.d4...d5
2.Nc3 ...Nf6
3.Bg5...Nbd7
4.f3
{Typical Veresov but RS chooses an obscure line that is confusing.}
4...e6
5.e4 ...Be7
6.e5
{This thrust is the only way white can secure an advantage - }
6...Nh5 - it is paramount not to underestimate this idea
{Thoughtless exchange of bishop gets white nowhere after 7.Bxe7 Qxe7 with idea of c5 and it is already not too good for white. So ...}
7.Be3...c5
{I believe there is only one move that gives white hope of an advantage and it is very difficult to find. The book is
incorrect here - my move is correct - }
[fen]r1bqk2r/pp1nbppp/4p3/2ppP2n/3P4/2N1BP2/PPP1Q1PP/R3KBNR b KQkq - 0 8[/fen]
8.Qe2...Bh4+
{Now , the purpose of the Knight on h5 is clear so the move Qe2 shows it's merit.}
9.g3...Bxg3+
10.hxg3...Nxg3
11.Qh2...Nxh1
12.Qxh1...cxd4
13.Bxd4
{Let's assess this position - white has traded two pawns and a rook for a Bishop and Knight and has achieved a
powerful center with the cramping pawn on e5 supported by the Bishop. This position is entirely new to my knowledge. Nothing new
in chess you say ? Look !}
[fen]r1bqk2r/pp1n1ppp/4p3/3pP3/3B4/2N2P2/PPP5/R3KBNQ b Qkq - 0 13[/fen]
13...Qa5
14.O-O-O...h6
15.f4
{This f4 is many fold - it helps to solidify the center , threatens f5 (at the right time) , and sets up possible
dangerous sacrifices on d5 }
15...Rb8 ?!
{an apparently decent response , however black has forfeited o-o-o which I believe is a major error but I wonder if he
could have made o-o-o. White has a large advantage in time and space.}
16.Bg2
{After this predictable move the white pieces are ready to explode into blacks position with devastating effect.}
[fen]1rb1k2r/pp1n1pp1/4p2p/q2pP3/3B1P2/2N5/PPP3B1/2KR2NQ b k - 0 16[/fen]
16...b6
{This move is not consistent with Rb8 - b5 was indicated but it seems make d5 even more vulnerable.- moral * identify your
enemies weakness then concentrate your forces there and good things will happen.}
17.f5
{After this move - white is +-}
17...exf5
[fen]1rb1k2r/p2n1pp1/1p5p/q2pPp2/3B4/2N5/PPP3B1/2KR2NQ w k - 0 18[/fen]
{Can you find the follow-up moves ? Don't peek.}
********************************************

18.e6 !!
{this temporary double pawn sacrifice tears blacks position to bits.}
18...fxe6
{For the moment I have traded a rook and 5 pawns for a bishop , knight and pawn but now black is in deep trouble and
could resign. But that would spoil all my fun.}
19.Bxg7...Rg8
20.Qxh6...Kf7
{Now with multiple threats - three attackers on d5 and e6 weak, and the king in the center is a dead duck - black can
only extract himself with heavy material losses.}
[fen]1rb3r1/p2n1kB1/1p2p2Q/q2p1p2/8/2N5/PPP3B1/2KR2N1 w - - 0 21[/fen]
{Now , what would you play ? it is essential to find the most accurate moves. try not to peek and congratulate
yourself if you found ...}
***************************************************

21.Rxd5...exd5
22.Bxd5+
{Lasker said , "the creative combination reveals the truth in the position" Blacks center was a sham and now he must give
his dearest blood.}
22...Qxd5
23.Nxd5...Rxg7
24.Nf3
{24 moves to develop the knight on g1 to f3 - how often does this occur ?}
24...Bb7
{Ok this is a decent threat to exchange off at least one of those dangerous knights - but it fails to ...}
25.Qd6 ! ...Bc8
{The bishop must go back and this seals blacks coffin.}
26.Qe7+...Kg6
27.Qe6+
{My plan is pretty deep here as it is hard to see that i will win the black rook on b8 , watch and learn.}
[fen]1rb5/p2n2r1/1p2Q1k1/3N1p2/8/5N2/PPP5/2K5 b - - 0 27[/fen]
27...Kh7
28.Qxf5+
{First the pawn must go - then it is a matter of precise calculation to bring home the point - }
28...Kg8
29.Qe6+...Kh7
30.Ne7
{Setting up a mate on h3 - so black must remove the guard on his rook - now you can see my idea clearly.}
30...Nc5
31.Qe5
{This wins a rook as there is no defense to the double threat of Qh5# and Qxb8.}
[fen]1rb5/p3N1rk/1p6/2n1Q3/8/5N2/PPP5/2K5 b - - 0 31[/fen]
31...Rg2
32.Qxb8...Bb7
33.Qf4
{White just has trade down and win the q-side pawns then trade the queen for the rook to win.}
33...Bxf3
34.Qxf3...Rg1+
35.Kd2...Kg7
36.Nc8...Rg6
37.Nxa7...Rf6
38.Qg3+...Kf8
39.Qb8+...Kg7
40.Qc7+...Kh6
41.Nc8
{and there goes all the black pawns - remember I was temporarily down 4 pawns in earlier position.}
41...Ne4+
42.Ke3...Nf2
43.Qxb6...Rxb6
44.Nxb6
{ the black Knight can't even fork to take g2 as it get's trapped. A very satisfying win and one of my best
games in years.

The Veresov is definitely a great opening to play against computers.

If anybody plays this opening against me, my 2nd move is always 2...g6!

Queeg if you and I ever play on the dining room table... don't try that 2. Nc3 baloney on me! hahahaha!!! :lol: :lol:

I like to play the Grunfeld Defense with colors reversed.
Try that opening sometime Dr. Queeg if you want to confuse a dedicated chess computer.

My lines for that opening are top secret! 8)

Cheers from LW the 1. d4 specialist :D

LW Steve

Trash talking Mr. Steve hmmmm

Liking your idea of defenses in reverse --- 8)

I would have to thrash you with the Blackmar-Diemer Gambit :P

Your g6 fianchetto systems would not hold up to my onslaught. Remember not to rely on too much memorization and lack understanding.

Where is your sacrificial orgy against tough computer ?

I play about 60 different openings so you may see it , you may not. I usually don't repeat debuts against humans as they just prepare a refutation as mentioned in another post....

I will sacrifice your pieces and eat all your babies regards,
Dr. Queeg :lol:

Hello Dr Queeg,

Ure games are interesting, and openings.
The Meph Vancouver is from R.Lang and we all know that they do not attack
So ure style is not so happy for this computer :lol:

Have u ever try this against a Star Diamond ,ore a R30-Risc 2500,Montreux
Risc 1MB .?

There playing style is quit ,different and they seek self active play,especially the Konig Programs , they do not easy accept ure offers easy.

Mine style is also always find quick the opposite King and mate it.

I do not know ure elo, mine was in mine best years 2150-2200 elo, not any more now a day :P i am getting "old"
But i like also sharp lines, the "Doner" gambit is also nice
the creator of it Edonar Gunus , witch i personally know.did have many good results with it , > Zappa chess program

I respect anybody,s playing style regards,Hans

Subject: Grunfeld Defense with colors reversed.

I have lots of attacking options and attacking plans in my notebook with
this opening. But here is one of my favorites that will work against dedicated chess computers.

[Opening - Grunfeld Ram Jam variation vs Pirc Defense]
[White "LW Steve"]
[Black "Dr. Queegnoff"] 8)

1. d4 Nf6 2. Nf3 g6 3. g3 Bg7 4. Bg2 d6 5. O-O O-O 6. c3 Nbd7 7. Re1 c6
8. Nbd2 Qc7 9. e4 b6 10. Qe2 Bb7

10 moves completed below

11. e5 is now prepared

[fen]r4rk1/pbqnppbp/1ppp1np1/8/3PP3/2P2NP1/PP1NQPBP/R1B1R1K1 w - - 0 11[/fen]

11. e5 dxe5 12. dxe5 Nd5
12 moves completed below.

The "e5" Ram Jam pawn is set for action! 8)

[fen]r4rk1/pbqnppbp/1pp3p1/3nP3/8/2P2NP1/PP1NQPBP/R1B1R1K1 w - - 0 13[/fen]

13. e6 fxe6
13 moves completed below.

[fen]r4rk1/pbqnp1bp/1pp1p1p1/3n4/8/2P2NP1/PP1NQPBP/R1B1R1K1 w - - 0 14[/fen]

14. Ng5 Nc5
14 moves completed below.

That's my Grunfeld Ram Jam variation with the white pieces.
If its not there then Qa4 followed by Qh4 with a king side attack.

[fen]r4rk1/pbq1p1bp/1pp1p1p1/2nn2N1/8/2P3P1/PP1NQPBP/R1B1R1K1 w - - 0 15[/fen]

I respect all styles too - Steve and I are just harassing each other - called "yanking chain" in America - it is fun to do like little puppies play fighting :lol:

How old are you sir I am over 80 ? i like your gambit and Steve's Ram Jammer - i want to use it my self but I think computer would just play e5
and stop attack. i have not access to the machines you mention - but i did have a nice win with a very strange opening against Vancouver starting with 1.c3 and 2.f3 - quite absurd I know - I would post game later this week but I am busy most time and next week is better.

I play the King program only in software form and have beaten it but not in sacrificial style as all gambits are bad against unfair software - Mikhail Tal style would have no chance :( - our style needs human weakness or not so calculating perfect program to shine our best.

Appreciating all styles of Kung Fu regards
