Steve
FOR TRADE:

I will trade my 1996 Saitek Kasparov Advanced Talking Chess Computer - 8 MHZ

I got it off EBAY about 2 years ago - and its in mint condition!
Comes with box and manual.
It has the Fidelity Chesster voice.
Like Steve B. said... These are very rare!

Will trade for a Novag Diamond II or Sapphire II only!

First Come - First Serve to anybody here on the HIARCS Forum.

I know I'm taking it in the shorts with this offer Regards,

LWSteve
Why settle for a Diamond II or Sapphire II, when you can have the extremely RARE Saitek Olympiad which I happen to have in near-new condition.

How Much Can LWSteveo's Shorts Handle Regards,
Dave
WOW Dave you have a Saitek Olympiad!!!!!

You don't see those on EBAY very much!...

I'm still hoping Queeg will trade me his Sapphire II for my Saitek
Advanced Talking Chess.

Earth to Queeg ovuh! :P

DII....

Yes Rare...far harder to find then all the different versions of the Diamonds or Sapphires ...which i have about 12 of ..each

i see the ATC has been released in several forms
it is the same as the Fidelity Little Chesster(6125)
and i know Sir Dave will be relieved to know that Radio Shack also jumped on the Chesster band wagon with its
Talking Chess Computer(cat.no.60-2255)

before his retirement i used to be in contact with Ron Nelson(when he was with Excalibur)
he invented the first voice chip ever used in a Chess computer
he was more proud of this invention then his chess program

now that i think about it
Novag was the only major company that never released a computer with a voice feature..and they were the last Co to go belly up
hmmm
i guess it pays off to remain silent at times

Speechless Regards

Hi Steve,

Do Novag still exist ore are they done with making chess computers?

Because the homepage do not work any more.

I always asked myself, why not bring out a Diamond programm on 40-60mhz because, now a days the processors are cheap then back then.
They run also in washing machines
But i think how many u must manufactor ,many to have profit on it.
And sadly now a days many people do not know much about chess computers and prefer to buy a strong chess program for there PC.

But still playing on a board does it for me! i like it more then PC because in mine best days i had 2150-2200 elo ,now not any more
So Blitzing with mine TM ore so ,is fun for me.
Well waiting for mine 2 new baby,s Pre Version Budapest Prestige and Elite CC Champion witch are mine latest buys

Happy regards,Hans

Hi Hans, Apart from being insanely jealous, I'm curious as to where
you managed to find the Elite Champion. Was it on Netherlands Ebay?
I've been looking for one of those for years. Is yours complete and
good condition? Please...put me out of my misery regards...
Larry
PS I'm also wondering how much you paid.

Well this is how I see them:

Fidelity Chesster = Full chatty voice = 5 Mhz
Little Chesster = less voice = 2 Mhz
RS1900L = less voice = 2 Mhz = Little Chesster
ATC = Full chatty voice per Chesster = 8 Mhz
SI's Talking Chess - Little Chesster Voice but plays like ATC = 8 Mhz.
Kishon Chesster = German voice = 3.6 Mhz

So the only one which plays clearly identical is Little Chesster and RS1900L and ATC & SI play similarly.

1 Fidelity Kishon Chesster 57.8 72.25% 2168
2 Saitek Advanced Talking Chess 53.8 67.25% 2018
3 Sharper Image Talking Chess Companion 53.8 67.25% 2018
4 Fidelity Chesster Challenger 53.1 66.38% 1991
5 Fidelity Little Chesster 51.8 64.75% 1943
6 Radioshack Talking Chess 1900L 51.8 64.75% 1943

Not counting Phantom.. regards

Hello Larry,

Well i found them not on ebay :D i rather not tell where i bought them. I can say from another Collector, so no bargain on them
But they look in very good shape both , so about anyone knows the price+- off a Prestige
But the Pre Budapest is a bit off rare because not many exist any more, because many people did upgrade there old version to the Budapest Program.
The Elite CC Champion is rare to get it,only 500 where made.
There is in mine eyes not a market for that kind computers
We can say for a Prestige 1200 till 1600 Euro u pay.
I shall say i payed for the Elite Champion 750 Euro
I know that another Collector in Holland did pay 900 euro for a Travemünde.

If u want something as a collector ,and it is already in ure head. the Mind is already way ahead then the body

But to all of u, do not tell mine Wife please

Well gladly mine Wife is ok with it. here hobby is buying clothes , mine chess computers hihi

Hi Steve,

Thnx, but i am still a humble collector :)
Yes indeed here in Netherlands, one off the nr1 country off computer chess
here it begin with H&G , because Jan Louwman did offer these 3 programmers to Mephisto , Richard Lang-Ed Schroder and Frans Morsch they all 3 where very promising programmers in that day
And now a days we all know what happened

Steve for such a small country as Netherlands u can not image how many chess computers here are sold

They put it on sites ,and do not know what it is ore so
We have also we call black market, there u find also chess computers not much but u can. i did there find a Novag Super Expert C 6Mhz !!
without pieces and power-supply, and i did take the risc for 35 Euro i believe 8) and in very good shape
So i can go on and on , mmhhh i once bought a Risc2500 for just 25 Euro!

Well come to Alkmaar Steve, it is 1 hour drive from me
and for this prices.......

Happy to live in Holland regards,Hans

Hi Steve,
Not sure but I think it might be the 6301Y chip which says 8 but runs at 2 Mhz. Will have to check this further.
