I haven't even seen a page out of a Star Diamond manual yet that confirms that the processor is a H8S/2312 !!

That's not the manual.
That's the same as "hear say" evidence.
Where did Wiki get that info from?
Did they take the screws off of Steve B's Star Diamond and write that page up? Who knows?

LWSteve,

I am almost sure that in the schachcomputer.info fórum have opened this machine. This fórum is the most tech i hace seen in all the fórums i visit about dedicated chess machines. There are a lot of people there that knows a lot about dedicated chess machines. But if you still not sure. Then you have to apply Steve Blincoe formula.
