Given the Prisma shares the display and functionality I always assumed that a large amount of the hardware and software was shared between the two.
Confused again regards

Prisma and Blitz should be identical, that's correct; but Renaissance basic seems to be weaker.
I had tested it some years ago and i found the program very similar to the Turbo 16K (had no Turbo S-24K, Blitz or Prisma at this time).
in the mood for testing? regards,
Robert
Edit: I just read in CSS 5/89, that the Renaissance has a 10 MHz 6301Y CPU; that makes it impossible to have the Blitz/Prisma program, as this is running on a H8.

hi Paul
while all three are rated the same i dont think the Ren Basic is the same exact program as the Blitz/ Prisma
Hallsworth generally shows identical programs on the same line and different programs separately
he lists the Blitz/Prisma on the same line but a separate line for Ren basic
there are entries on his list sometimes showing 3 computers on the same line as they are all identical
i think the strength just happens to be the same but not the exact program

rather unlikely; if Kaplan had written such a strong 6301Y-program, Saitek surely would have put it into a plastic chess computer too (not only into the rather expensive Renaissance)

rather likely
Selective Search is a highly reliable source for ratings and has been since 1985

Still haven't found what I'm looking for regards
Paul
Hi Paul,
Have you seen this one?: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 3DWatching
I was interested myself until I saw the shipping cost to Australia...$407
all the best
Larry
PS I know you mentioned 'Renaissance' and this is the 'Resurrection', but
I thought it worth a look. I would'nt know the difference.
I hadn't seen that listing, certainly very interesting though again the postage to the UK is quite heavy at $315 even with the excellent exchange rate at the moment! I will keep an eye on it......
What I'd really like is Ruud to come up with a processor box we can just plug our DGT boards into. He did drop a hint that something like this might be possible next year.
but coudn't find an exact match... though it does say the
spark is a spracklen programme. Who usually worked for fidelity
They have the Fidelity Elite V11 at 2280 and the Spark at 2225
anyone lucky enough to own both?
you were not wrong
the Sparc is the strongest Program the Spracklens ever released for sale
the so called Eag"V 11" is a computer modified by a private individual without the consent of Fidelity or the Spracklens
you will not see the V11 on any other rating list
not in the SSDF lists
not in Selective Search(where there is a rating for the V2-V10)
and not on Kurt Kisperts site..top rating's page
Beautiful boards, very nice to see . .
I'm wondering where you got your modules?
Did they come with the boards, or did you get them separately?
I suspect that at one time they was easier to find, and now it's next
to impossible to find them individually?
Also, I know that the 'end game rom' chip can be installed into the Analyst module.
Do you have that chip installed in yours?
And have you noticed any changes in performance?
like it going slower? I saw that on another post and was wondering.

Assuming it's the same endgame chip that goes into the Stratos
and Turboking, the module makes hardly any difference to
performance. It's a database for K + P/K, K+P/K+P and K+2P/K+P,
if my memory serves. Games are normally resigned before this stage
is reached. Any speed drop is negligible. Memory was expensive in those
days, so they could'nt give, eg, 5 man tablebases.
