My condolences, Fern. It's hard to lose such friends. They are innocent, above all - creatures of instinct and affection.

My condolences Fernando, I think this book novel of Fernandez Sánchez Dragó will like it very much: http://www.avuelapluma.com/soseki-inmor ... chez-drago

Hi Gerhard,kgvetter wrote:Hi,
interesting enough we have two cats, the Siames cats official name is "Gauner von Penski" which is an awful name for such a beautiful cat, so we baptized him "Mephisto". Our Russian blue came with the official name of Milan, so far I had not thought about changing that but now I think about adding an o to his name.
Anyway I had no idea that there might be other cats in the world called Mephisto...

We should start a Mephisto Club for cats. It's good to know that I might not be the only one who could not think beyond a chess computer name for their cat.
Best regards
Nick

I'm really sorry to read about you loss Fern. As someone who has been surrounded by at least one cat (and often more) for his entire life I can understand the pain.
19 years is an exceptionally good innings so clearly she was well looked after and had a rewarding life.
At my place it's just me and my 10 year old cat Hilary who I've owned since picking her up from the breeder at 12 weeks old. She sticks to me like glue and when I play chess she will sit next to the board, analysing the position, kibitzing and - of course - knocking pieces off the table onto the floor after capture (and sometimes before).

Chess is like painting the Mona Lisa whilst walking through a minefield.

This clip was circulating again a couple of weeks ago and it always brings a smile to my face regardless of my mood.
