The Art -and the Trouble- to Win a Won Game
Everybody here has had the following experience: you has positionally overwhelmed the computer and you even have one, two, even three pawns of advantage. But the computer does not concede. It still play. It looks for complex moves to bother you. You are already tired and somewhat bored; you already did your best to get this advantage. And so...
And so you know you have nothing else to win. Nothing can happens BUT to lose control and let the machine impale you with a sudden move that leave you in tatters.
WHAT A RAGE!!!!
We cannot believe what our eyes are seeing, but there it is, defeat rescued from the bangs of victory.....
OH MY GOD
To die would be sheer consolation.....right?

Fernando, I just know how you must feel...
And that is why I am so reluctant to start a serious game against one of my machine... I remember too well the club evenings where I spoiled my whole day (or was it the whole week?!) by one silly mistake. I also still remember at least two nice games where I was just one move away from victory but did not see it, and lost because of that.
So for the time being I play a lot of quickies with my machines, and use the TakeBack button a lot...
TakeBack regards,
Paul
