Have just noticed that the Millennium shop has now stopped selling the MCG.

Just last night I was wondering what the size of the production run was.
Maybe 2000 units? You can still buy one new, no doubt, just not from
Millenium. They simply ran out. While we are on the subject, last night
I ran a mini match between MCG and risc2500 at 5secs/move. Just three
games, risc 2.5...MCG 0.5. About as expected. The risc was the mere
128kb ram version. I might try again with the 512kb risc.

It's here but visually not a lot different from the original MCG.
Very disappointed

Not a clue about the price? I already paid the highest price ever for the first of them....

I've got an agreement from Millenium to send me the first computer,
ie, the one with serial #00000001. I'll going to sell it to Steve for $5K.
Millenium have shown themselves to be honest with rating estimates.
Over 2200 is quite impressive. It will munch Star Diamond, r2500 etc.
Fernando, this time buy direct from Millenium, not from some shop.
You will get it cheaper and faster.

Certainly I will not pay again the around 500 bucks that was the cost including delivery. But even if I can get the new one for lot less, I am not convinced in buying something identical in its appearance to the first and with same program, just stronger and faster.

Mmm, ok, that's the trouble with expectations, they are usually way too high. No wood, same design, 'just' more of the same. Guess I'll stick to the 2015 version in this matter.
The price should be not much higher than the original version. Around 150 euro maybe....

that has been the history of collecting from the beginning
its normal
in my collection for Mephisto.. as an example..i have the three different boards and all of the modules..
this comprises only 3 different computers that look different and I have the same Lang program in about 20 modules(with slight improvements in strength each time)..main difference is hardware..for Schroder ..the same 3 boards and perhaps another 10 modules..
Fidelity...All EAS And EAG boards looked the same...basically same Spracklen program but with hardware increases

Saitek...3 Large wooden boards and a dozen OSA modules

Nothing New Under The Sun Here Regards

Make it 5K Euro and you got a deal
After BREXIT the Euro is falling faster then my chess strength did once I hit 60

Hmmm, two and half times greater speed and memory, with much bigger opening books; I wonder if the program is much different, or essentially the same but in better hardware. Either way, it should have a considerable ELO boost. Their estimate is >2200, which if it follows the same estimate for the MCG 'could' mean 2300+ This would challenge the TASC R30, not sure about the R40, but at the right price I would be interested.

i will probably buy this new machine... The packaging is pleasant on my view, the level probably awesome (The first Chess Genius is already very strong) .
of course i would have been happier if the machine was from another programmer , but may be this will be the next step ( i hope so) and i want MILLENNIUM to continue on this road..

Okay, I just saw the px and info on the new version. Now I'm getting interested. Just getting rid of the curved side design in favor of a flat board makes a difference to me.

Since long time ago I lost interest in the strength as such. Any around 2000 elo machine is enough for me. My interest now, if still exist, is for differences of style, differences of presentation, differences of board, differences of that kind. I would have preferred a hundred times more a 1900 machine with a program by other programmer of the past and with a wood board.
But these guys in Millenium will squeeze the teets of Lang and plastic manufactures until the last drop.
