For people who kind of like my books, here my latest creation: https://www.amazon.com/Neverending-Tact ... 897&sr=8-2
Maybe someone will want to do himself a present for the New Year.

Greetings Lyudmil:

Tactics keep my synapses firing, and at only $4.99 for the Amazon Kindle version, that’s a no brainer.

Very interesting video on Youtube GM Sergey Shipov "Do not believe the computer",unfortunately in Russian.
Some positions are bad evaluation Komodo, sometimes vice versa Stockfish or Rybka,or Fritz.

Very nice sample piece. Stockfish 10 made a two big fault.

1. Stockfish can't finds winner draw Qf6+!!
2. Playing with black after 1.Qf6+ Bf6 2. gxf6+ play nonsense Kg8??

Human won without problem in this position.

Thank you for information.

The second diagram is Mate combination in 7, 8 etc., Stockfish, Komodo, McCain cannot see full combination. After Rxf5 McCain 10 (also Stockfish and Komodo) still didn't see the combination but Hiarcs 14 sees it.

I'm sorry, Komodo see it, McCain see it too, but for a much longer time. Critter 1.6a see very quickly.

Next position. Komodo, Stockfish, McCain doesn't see best draw Nh8. Cheng 4.39 see it immediately.

I'm curious as to how one defines "best draw"? Also White is up quite a bit in material - I'm not sure I understand the chess significance with white being able draw the game when it's up quite a bit in material. I assume you just want the engine to display a draw score 0.00 , which is not possible unless the engine has fortress detection in a position like this. I do agree it's an interesting position and draw would be the outcome with best play.

Hi,
The game Gelfand - Wang Yue.
Indeed the strongest Knight h8 move. Gelfand analyzed in 2010,
Shipov in 2017. The engines do not see this move, and do not correctly analyze this position.
Advantage for white, it's not a draw. Black has a lost endgame.

Your link is a terrible site - 3 download buttons and every single one wants to update Adobe "Flash",- all fake of course. Dropbox or goole drive are much better for transferring files , both are free and malware free.

But I believe you are correct not draw - I got huge plus score white with overnight analysis - but errantly clicked and lost it.
