How to create tags / seach by tags

Could someone explain to me how to create tags properly and how to search by tags? I can't seem to get it to work.

When saving a game, switch to Extra tags tab and add some tag, like

Motif Deflection
Source Chess Informant 73

Then, you search for it, using quick search (Ctrl/Cmd+F) and entering:

Code: Select all

Motif:Deflection
Source:"Chess Informant"

Use quotes if the value contains spaces.

Thank you for your help. I feel like I've tried the above and it doesn't work. When creating the tag in your examples above, what is the precise "tag" and what is the "value"?

EDIT: Okay, sorry. I think I have it working now. It was something about spacing or capital letters that was making it fail. Thanks again.
