List of macOS engines besides HIARCS, Stockfish, and Leela

Post by e4-homie »

Besides HIARCS, Stockfish, and Leela*, what other engines exist for macOS that can be used with HIARCS?

* User HiarcsApple describes the process for installing Leela Chess Zero in the following thread; see post on December 15, 2023: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=12595&p=114870#p114870.

Dragon is the other strong one but you have to buy it. It’s basically a NNUE development extension of Komodo. Komodo 14.1 is free to download.

Arasan and Beserk also seems to work well on my Mac.

There’s a list of engines here:

I use only 1 or 2 engines for analysis and then leave a couple of them on default reduced strength settings for playing against myself (massively reduced strength!), or seeing how a stronger engine would treat the position against a weaker engine/player for some ideas.
