Yes this seems about right, I have a Q9650 and so far I have not seen an i7 chip out perform it clock for clock. In fact your QX9650 which has the older stepping was 300mhz slower then Phil's i7 and finished only 20 elo behind it. Makes me glad I did not jump on this first batch of i7's. Soon though the i7's will be killing the C2Q's but that will come when they shrink the die again to like 35nm or something.
