Well Tony, even though we are still in book, this was a tough vote and a split decision: 7 to 5.
But the Team has rallied, our expert OTB players are onboard, and our 3 dozen+ processors are tracking the game quite well.
So, I think there will be some turbulence ahead; fasten your seat belt, your in for a rough ride.
We move:
20...Qb8

Great run, Tony! What are you shooting for in Stockholm? Good luck during your tapering.
I had my first race of the year last Saturday--I'd been battling injuries and other stuff for awhile (and particularly simply lack of time to train). It was just a local 5k race, which I ran in 17:47. The weather was quite warm and humid. Even so, most impressive was that the guy who beat me (I got second place) is one of my training buddies, and he is 47 years old! He passed me about 3 km in and then pulled away, winning by about 12 seconds. A 42-year-old also almost caught me at the end. The masters runners performed quite well!

I'm 52! so those fast times is long past gone. The longest I've run this year (due to colds) is 23k, I'll try to get a 30k before Stockholm, but I doubt it's enough for a under 3.30 time. So I guess it's more like 3.45.
I'm impressed buy your time, you must be young. The fastest runner in our club did 17.20 but he is 37.

Wow, you are doing quite well for someone in his fifties! It would be great if you could get 3:30 in Stockholm. I checked that 3:35 is the qualifying time for the Boston Marathon for people in your age group. Either way, I bet it's a really beautiful race. Good luck with the 30k run; will that be a race or a training run (or both?)?
I used to be in better shape and running 5k's in the 16's somewhat regularly, but I'm still trying to get back into shape. We'll see what the summer brings...

30k will be pure training in a 5.45 pace. The important is to run a long time, not how many km you run.
It was interesting to read about Boston. The main reason when I started to run marathon in the early 80's was to qualify for that marathon. Back then I had to do 3.00. I did 3.05 in 1988 and was sure to make it 1989. But I trained to hard and wrong and got injured all the time. I quit running 96-99 and never came back to that standard. The best I've done since then is 3.17 for 4-5 years ago. Now I'm more of a marathon "collector", I've ran 57 in total.
