Hi everybody,

In this position palm hiarcs plays: 57.Kf5 h4 58.Kg4 Kxe6 59.Kh3 and it shows a score of - 11.87 palm hiarcs was set at 3 minutes per move.

Now that you know why you loose try to replay the game and write down the mistake and look for a better move or the best move. This homework will make you improve little by little. When you play in a tournament do not pay attention to your opponent concentrate on the board and if you are blocked or something take a little walk.Allways just think about the game nothing else, of course there are a lot of other things to do but these are some tips

Best

Fairly certain the BLP will play Kxe6 so I'm currently crunching the conditional reply to speed things up a little........hope you don't mind playing for a little longer? The current score it -3.8 so it shouldn't take much more to tip it to resignation.......

All is lost regards

OK conditional move

If Kxe6 then Kf4

Score is now only -2.71

Having thought about it for an hour whilst the SD churns with the losing position I'm not sure if it's worth continuing further?! Surely the BLP can't muck up this won game from here?

Unless Larry or the Elders disagree I think the conditional should be

if Kxe6 then resign?!

Deflated regards

Hi Paul

Thanks Steve, but after Kxe6 white cannot defend against the dual threats of queening the h pawn or the black king infiltrating the white queenside pawns and mopping them up. If we were dealing with dedicated machines of a lower level then it would be worth continuing but here with both machines well north of 2000 elo I fear that the chance of an error is very slight from the BLP point of view.

That said I'm happy to play on if Larry is but I didn't want to drag him through what is already a won game without his agreement.

The conditional resignation offer stands to Larry,

Queensbury rules regards

Hi all, Yes it is certainly a lost cause for white here.
[fen]8/8/8/1p1k4/p1p2K1p/P1P5/1P6/8 w - - 1 58 [/fen]

57.Kf5 h4
58.Kg4 Kxe6
59.Kf4 Kd5
if 60.Ke3 then 60.....Ke5 score ~9.0 for white

This is not what I would have done. I'd have simply pushed the 'h'
pawn, made him chase it, and moved in on the q side pawns. The
outcome is the same.
Paul's resignation is accepted unless he wants a few more moves.
It's been a fun game. Thanks to all.
Waiting for the title deeds to Paul's football stadium

Then we agree that white resigns  well at least something has beaten my SD! Kd5 sends the eval to well over -5.3 in only 8 mins so at this point it's time to call it a day.

My thanks to Larry for being a sporting opponent and to everyone who has commented in the thread and those who have pushed the thread views to numbers I never believed possible!

We now hand the baton to Steve and the World Versus Resurrection II match.

Off for a lie down now regards

Out of morbid curiosity I continued the game myself....

After ..........Kd5 play only went as far as

Kf3, h3

Kg3 and the SD signalled it's resignation with this move so we were only two moves from the end anyway!

Just hope it's learning file picked something up out of this!

Best regards

Many thanks gents for playing out this entertaining game in public - good fun to follow and it must have taken quite a bit of your time to time to play and post also.
