It's strange that when I go to the Chinook site I see no mention of Ed Trice or any credit given to him for what is claimed in the Wikepdeia article you refer to.

Have you checked the "Thank You" link?

If so you will see "Database Verification" and my name there. While "Database Verification" is only two words, it is much more involved. We verified that 132 billion of his checkers endgame positions produced the same values as ours. In fact, in 2001, we were able to demonstrate that there was an error on the Chinook side, he corrected it, then matched our data.
