So if Magnus is about 60 ELO points ahead of the next guy, could it be that his success is simply a result of brain overclocking in that secret Norwegian lab? How much? I'd bet 2x, but I'm only guessing ... There is a formula somewhere on these fora, I can't seem to find it ...
Personally, I'm very sceptical. I believe Richard Lang simply made progress (it is widely known he joined the Carlsen team in October 2012), motivated as he is. However, posters on Russian chess forums make a very strong argument regarding overclocking. What do you think?
