you know as well as i do Fern that you are an extremely wealthy man
20+ books on the NY Times best seller's lists ,Famous TV and Radio Talk Show personality
considered a viable candidate as President of your Country
you have the money to buy entire collections without even getting out of bed
why a man of your means even thinks about shipping costs is beyond me
I see, my dear friend, that you have not lost your talent to laugh on me. My books are just on the list of the Non-sold books of the year and I can fall on my knees and pray If I receive the equivalent to a couple of thousands dollars for the effort I have done.
The 300 or more bucks that cost me to bring even the most miserable unit to my home is equal to the money I gather with utmost difficulty to put a hot meal on my table once or twice a week.
I took a look three or for days ago at your collection and once again I cannot believe the amount of money that is there under those carapaces of plastic or wood.
With the value of one of your units I could lunch a full month regards
Fern

All bought when i was a bit more affluent then today
sadly i never recovered from the Great Recession of 2008
forced to sell everything except my chess computers
for these last years i have been living in a rented storage room along with my computers
the computers all fit and there is enough room for a mattress on the floor and a small table and a chair for me
perhaps one day i can rent a small studio on the West Side of Manhattan
I was born in 1949 and I have never recovered from the crisis of 1951. From then to this date I have lived on a base of cold soup and once a month a Coke. Living as you would be, for me, is sheer luxury. You even have a chair. I sit in a wood box I begged in a berth from pitiful stevedores.

I'm approaching 67 years, so I don't have a "far distant" future. But
I do look after my health, so I've got a good few years yet.
Meanwhile, if you become terminal anytime soon I need the exact
location of your grave, so I can be there with a shovel the next day.

Well..at least I know I can count on at least ONE person to attend my funeral
What a weird question to put in this thread!
Or I am missing something?
BTW, I wonder if still Rev II can be considered a dedicated unit....It is loaded with first class engines from the realm of cheer engines and that, in some degree, destroy the untold fact that for us a dedicated unit is something we can defeat...sometimes....

I guess Sir Dave was pondering if the REV ll would hold up well buried with me in the grave..you know...dirt..rain...worms ..etc..etc
anyway... the REV II does push the definition of a true dedicated unit a bit
if all it did was play chess with the onboard-hardwired engines then it would be a 100% Bona Fide dedicated. Even if those engines are powerful monsters
the fact that it can also be used with any UCI engine(even if not hardwired) and can be used as a DGT stand alone board ..with no engines .. does detract somewhat from the 100% level
that is why I have disabled all of these extra functions and so my Rev II cannot even access these extra features
I have wiped its internal memory clear of all of these distractions
You did well, but you fell short of the real goal.
You must send me that machine in order to totally avoid any temptation of using Rev II in such a non-real-dedicated-unit way.
If that is not possible, I still can accept any other as a demo for the real thing.
