Thanks to the generosity of a pal here, Chris, I posses now a VCC Fidelity machine, which I desired since long ago.
As you know it was the first chess computer to talk, though just to announce moves and little more, which in fact is a blessing after all the insults we receive on a daily base from fritz... or the bloody comment of Fidelity Chesster, the talkative version of Par Excellence.
With VCC my collection get an enhanced value and I win many hours of enjoyment.
At the same time I received from the postman the computer, I received a delivery of books from amazon.
Yes, There are days as this, full of pleasures....

A New Great Arrival to my Humble Collection!!!!

I also get a buzz when an addition to my collection arrives.
Way back in time I bought new a machine the same as you just
received. To be honest, it was a purchase I later regretted. To me it
was a fancy version of the standard Fidelity CC7, jazzed up with a voice
and a pretty black casing. In early days I was naive enough to think
every chess computer model had it's own unique program, written from
scratch.
Anyway, have fun with it.

Well, it has a program slightly better than cc7, not just the voice. In any case the difference between a 1300 with a 1350 elo is not enough for a decent player as I am to feel the difference. I win both of them almost without thinking, BUT equally es an interesting experience. a way to control your mind in order NOT to let things going too far trough the path of pride, because even a machine of this caliber can strike you if you are not attentive.Larry wrote:I also get a buzz when an addition to my collection arrives.
