Welcome back, Ian. I am also not from the UK, but from a country
far far away. Although on the opposite side of the planet, we are
ostensibly subjects of the same queen as you.
As a favor, could you please email the queen and ask her to have
a facelift? She is starting to look vastly different to the queen on our
coins. No offence intended, the lady has served her country well and
is by far the longest serving British monarch of all time, surpassing
the earlier queen Elizabeth by quite some years. I guess she thinks
her son, Charles is not suited for the job.
The UK itself is certainly a nice holiday destination. I went there a couple
of years back, drove from the southernmost point, Land's End, to the
northernmost point John'O'Groats, Scotland. Plenty of cozy little coffee
places and curiosity shops. The people seem to speak English quite well.
