Time for some Kaare Danielsen comparisons. First test is CXG Sphinx Comet.
CXG Comet has 4 play styles all of which I have tested below:
CXG COMET
http://www.spacious-mind.com/html/sphinx_comet.html
TEST GAME 1 - 15TH CENTURY MASTERS
In Test Game 1 the Aggressive style performed the best.
TEST GAME 2 - THE TURK
In Test Game 2, the Defensive setting performed the best.
SCORE AFTER 2 GAMES
Well overall after two tests, the aggressive setting scores the best, but there really is not much difference in strength between Normal, Aggressive and Defensive settings.
A manufacturer's rating of USCF 1500 does seem to fit quite well so far after two tests.
Best Regards

Here are some more Danielsen comparisons.
COMPUTERS TESTED
LEXIBOOK CHESSMAN PRO
http://www.spacious-mind.com/html/chessman_pro.html
LEXIBOOK CHESSMAN ELITE
http://www.spacious-mind.com/html/chessman_elite.html
TEST GAME 1 - 15TH CENTURY MASTERS
I have not had a chance to finish test game 2 yet, but very interesting is that under the Random setting, the White moves for these two not only are they 100% alike, but also CXG Comet that I posted earlier today.
Interesting same program regards

I completed Test Game 2 with Lexibook Chessman Pro and Lexibook Chessman Elite.
TEST GAME 2 - THE TURK
Well there is enough variety in these two computers to make them both keepers.
DANIELSEN SCORE AFTER TWO TESTS
Although there is enough familiarity between these tested computers, there is also enough move variation to keep them all interesting.
I had previously posted the score for Scisys Mark 8 and SciSys Olympiad in this post:
http://hiarcs.net/forums/viewtopic.php? ... sc&start=0
Another computer that I had added is SciSys Companion II.
SCISYS COMPANION II
http://www.spacious-mind.com/html/chess ... on_ii.html
It is surprising that Chessman Pro Elite's RANDOM setting did so well. But I think generally these tested computers are all quite close in overall strength. To have these 4 play styles with the two Lexibook's and CXG Comet is really useful to provide additional variety for the human player. The SciSys computers are slightly handicapped at the 30 seconds per move setting as they don't really have a 30 seconds setting. Their standard is 15 seconds and the next level up from that is 1 minute.
Best regards,

Here are two more Danielsen's that I have tested:
CXG SPHINX TITAN
http://www.spacious-mind.com/html/sphinx_titan.html
CXG ADVANCED STAR CHESS
http://www.spacious-mind.com/html/advan ... chess.html
TEST GAME 1 - 15TH CENTURY MASTERS
The similarities between TITAN and ADVANCED STAR CHESS can be seen in the above table. They are however not 100% clones.
TEST GAME 2 - THE TURK
As in Test Game 1, the similarities are visible, but again there is enough difference as well to avoid them being 100% clones.
DANIELSEN TESTED COMPUTERS RATING LIST
Overall CXG Advanced Star Chess performed better than CXG Titan. For both computers the DESPERADO setting performed the best.
