Portorose 68030 about to go on Ebay

Post by Chessbama »

Hello,
We ( House of Staunton ) are about to list a Portorose 68030 on eBay. We have photo people that shoot most of our website listings and they'll be taking some nice pics here shortly. Just played a game against it and the machine appears to work perfectly. The only downer I need to put out there is that the pieces are Mephisto Munchen pieces. The original pieces went MIA many years ago ( no doubt I'll find them on a pallet in the warehouse at some point in the year 2019 ). Have the original adapter as well. I made an Instagram account a few minutes ago so I could upload a pic into the cloud for now, https://instagram.com/p/zfxmZ7FGYw/ should take you to one. We plan to put it on Ebay this Sunday evening. The original manual is included as well as a customs from from when the computer was sent to the CCRA from the manufacturer. Still have original packaging. Just wanted to shoot a heads up to the Hiarcs forum community since you guys have helped this chess player out a lot with learning these computers. I am 32 years old and think my first experience with any chess AI is Chessmaster 10th.[/img]

I personally think that set looks ok on the board. We'll try to get it listed on ebay this week. The snowstorm kept us out of the office for most of last week and got a little behind.

I see the auction is up
nice to see you have the original box ..well.. cardboard packing sleeve really
i like the letter you have from Mephisto..good idea including that in the auction.shows perfect provenance
Should bring into the house at least 2 Grand.. 3 grand or higher would not be out the question

Y2K Regards

Woof...

bidding is ferocious with more then 5 days to go
we could be looking at a new worlds record for a schachcomputer on Ebay
I think the current title holder is a Novag Robot Adversary that sold for just over $5000

And so the TM sells at just shy of $4000(4 Large)

not a new world's record but not chump change either
I am sure the HOS is well pleased with this price
