Collector's Corner... Excalibur GM..The Ghost In The Machine
I Noticed a Strange bug in my GM...
Some computers have a feature where they will auto power down if not used for a certain period of time
in my GM..if i turn it off..but leave the adapter plugged in..
the computer suddenly turns ON after a period of time
don't know exactly how long it takes to power ON but i think its a few hrs
thank god it dosen't move the pieces as well
anyway...i wonder if anyone can duplicate this bug??
Spooked Regards
Steve

Strange bug
My television does that.
Re: Collector's Corner... Excalibur GM..The Ghost In The Mac
I haven't noticed that, but I have noticed that sometimes the batteries run down faster, out of proportion to how much I'm using the board. I wonder if this powering on or some kind of electrical activity, with the unit off, could be going on with batteries (ie. not with adapter in). Not to mention that batteries will start to leak if the board is left untended for 2-3 months.Steve B wrote:I Noticed a Strange bug in my GM...

do you have the adaptor?
if so could you try leaving the adaptor plugged in with the computer turned off?
it just happened again after about 2 hrs of being turned off
Insisting on being On Regards

Do not get terrorized if one of these days your vacuum cleaner begin to do the job alone.
Maybe, if all appliances do the same, you could fire your wife.
saving money and bad moments regards

Defective products are sent back to the maker.
Problem is in this case is that the appliance goes with all your money.
No solution for this regards

HI Steve, I will test mine tonight with the power adapter and let you know what it does. To replicate exactly I assume you don't have any batteries in your unit?

Well, that's an easy one. Get her a new adaptor! (Had to do it with my wife a few years ago. Worked wonders. 16v, negative center, can also power Sony Vaio laptops.)Steve B wrote:

Re: Collector's Corner... Excalibur GM..The Ghost In The Mac
No visiting spirits tonight...maybe a voltage spike/drop, loose/faulty adapter/connection, or just another chess computer mystery. At least this happened to you with the GM and you didn't have Igor talking to you in the middle of the night, now that would be creepy!
