Those Data are interesting to get a good idea of the overall level of this machine versus human. Do you know other handle/account for dedicated machine on FICS ?
Best regards

strangely all machine seems to be less effective versus weaker opponent. I was thinking the opposite ...

Yes, that could be a factor. Programs don't blunder in time pressurescandien wrote:for the Blitz the main pool of opponent were rated :
between 1500 and 1900 for SapphireII (10% opponent below 1500, 90% rated over 1500)
between 1400 and 1800 for Sapphire (40% oppponent Below 1500, 60% opponents rated over 1500).
Maybe this can be the cause of the rating difference ?

interface
is possible to find this interface for Sapphire? Can you help me?
Re: interface
Sure! It is pretty long in the tooth by now, originally written for Win32 RS-232 and an early WinBoard protocol version. You would also need the data cable from the Novag Distributor and a serial-USB adaptor. One of these days I want to translate it from Win32 C to cross-platform Python or something, since I don't even use Windows any more.dedicate computers wrote:is possible to find this interface for Sapphire? (Oh, there is no way to post attachments? Darn, my web host is down right now so I'll have to give a link later. I also gave the source to Steven Edwards, because he wanted to make an interface to his Citrine, which shares the same protocol. Maybe a search on the web for "AutoNovag" might turn up a forgotten archive...)
In the meantime, let me attach a few of the thousands of games SapphireII played on FICS.
