Fidelity Arrived to Chile, But...

Post by Fernando »

It is a normal Champion, not a septennial
All the buttons of superior head of the comp (TM. RV, ST, etc)- does not work.
I will leave it ON for a while to see if it gets new life.

In tears regards

No, not included. In fact the box coming was only the inferior part of it, not the cover. The game came with the transformer and the pieces, no more. I am playing a game to see if I can handle this...To date half the buttons does not work.
No way to see PV, etc.
BUT...
If I can play it, it's OK.

OK OK all solved.
Ot happens that this model has a totally different way of being handled that normal Champion. After I found the booklet, buried under a mountain of package materiel, I realized that and so all is ok, playing a game with it..

The Septennial is 31 years old. The control buttons next to the display
can become a bit difficult, only working with increased pressure. If this
is the case, then take it to your local tech guy, he will take the machine
apart and gently scrape away the oxide coating that has accumulated
since new. The machine actually looks in superb condition in the pictures.
The options menu system is completely different to the normal Champion,
but once you get used to it, it is simple enough.
The Septennial is quite a rarity, only an estimated 500 produced, and
nowhere near that number still in service. Steve has one in his "utra rare"
section. BTW, why the name "Septennial"?... it was given that name
to honour seven years since the first chess comp in the year 1977.

Larry, everything working fine now.
It plays a very good game. As other Spracklen stuff, it has a good ending knowledge.
Just still not used to the hexadecimal system to give score.
