Great post Nick
The nice thing about Gavon is that it has been developed and produced by a very active chess player and dedicated chess computer collector, so everything about it is how I would have built one.
Did you buy your Gavon 2 direct from Josu or did you win one of his eBay auctions?
Another thing, I didn't know about the portable power supply until I built my own Gavon (with the help of Josu). I'm amazed how long it lasts with just a single change and lovely engineered too.

I had the Gavons direct from Josu, but you can find them on Ebay from time to time as well. Josu is also very helpful when you have questions. You are right he is a collector, we were discussing some dedicated chess computers last week. He has some very good ones.
Best regards

Hi Nick
Forgot to tell you that, at the top of the first page of the Gavon handbook is the GAVON logo. I designed that for Josu as a thank you for him letting me build my own Gavon.
I also introduced him to my friend Berger who designed the Solus autosensory chess board and Josu added new code so Gavon and Solus where compatible with one another.
Regards
Bryan

Do you have a copy of the Logo? I am going to need it soon/
Also, is that the same Berger that fixes chess computers?
Regards
Nick
