Novag Super Connie

Just a piece of trivia here, guys. The classic Novag Super Constellation
has written on it's box that it can mate with KBN vs k.
Well in the above postion with white to move super connie mated alright,
but it took fully 31 moves to execute what is a mate in 14. Just wasted
a lot of tempi with pointless bishop moves. BTW black was a powerful
software program playing the optimal defensive moves.
The following year's Novag Expert can indeed mate in the minimum
number of moves. The Expert was nicknamed by some the "wooden
super Connie", but it was more. It had a better endgame giving it a
higher rating.
