Fun sentence construction game

Post by Monsieur Plastique »

The recent threads on ugly machines, plastic machines, etc gave me an idea. Construct a single grammatically correct sentence using as many commercial chess computer names as possible. Plurals are allowed so long as the sentence remains grammatically correct with correct spelling (i.e. Executive and Executives are fine).

Here is my first attempt:

Me and my Travel Companions - Chess Mate Senator Nigel Short and Chess Pal Genius Leonardo Madison - were wandering along Miami Beach and headed to the nearby Coral Restaurant and Bistro when we were accosted by Marauders King Arthur and his cohorts Igor and Ivan wielding Rapiers - a combination against which our Avant-garde fighting techniques and Silver Bullets were no match.

Sentence uses the following chess computer names:

Travel Companion
Chess Mate
Senator
Nigel Short
Chess Pal
Genius
Leonardo
Madison
Coral
Bistro
Marauder
King Arthur
Igor
Ivan
Rapier
Avantgarde
Silver Bullet

Score: 17 :)
Chess is like painting the Mona Lisa whilst walking through a minefield.

OK I'll play. Can't resist the temptation to play with words :P

“Bravo Virtuoso! What an Aurora! You are a Master and Cavalier, your Allegro has a unique Solar Star Brute Force that creates the effect of Coronas and Spectrums on the spacious mind" said Chess King Boris the Legend and Premiere Diplomat of Sierra Leone who was sitting at the American Mensa auditorium with his Cougar Escort Alexandra, America’s beautiful former Beach Belle of Atlanta with her famous Bistro eyes and Tiny pouting lips, when tears had welled up as he listened to Grand-Master Galileo’s Capella from Roma sing the final Aria of the new Concerto named Disney’s Magic Castle written by Cosmic Merlin who is a true musical Titan and Traveler of the Cosmos and Galaxy and very different to the Maestro Mephisto from Berlin, Alaska whose music has a more Savant Conquistador sound that is more Forte to the Sensors compared to what his Regency just heard which was Elite and very Avant Garde.

Oi Oswaldo,

Voce me conhece, eu nao falar bem portugues, so um pouco.

Abracos

ps. for those who are wondering. I spent time in Brasil a few years ago, and I met Oswaldo in Sao Paulo. In fact I bought my Saitek Corona from him and some hand made wooden chess pieces suitable for a Chafitz ARB board.

In fact those same hand made wooden chess pieces I ended up selling to John Cleese also few years ago. John Cleese's secretary had contacted me after seeing the ARB on my website. John had lost his chess pieces moving back from England to his California home and asked if I had a spare set to sell. Since I had this spare set I sold it, feeling quite pleased with the knowledge that John Cleese whenever he plays with his ARB is playing with my chess pieces which I had bought from Oswaldo :)

Oswaldo is a good man and a gentleman! :)

Best regards

about pieces, computers and Nick

Post by dedicate computers »

Hi all, Nick has a particularity,
Well, well, thank you for your words Nick. I remember, even as we speak in my home, Nick played an informal game with Mephisto MM II, anyway, without paying much attention, won easy. He's not just a collector, knows a lot about chess;
Grateful for your words, always be welcome in São Paulo;
Abraços
Oswaldo

Well, I don't think that I can do it in Portuguese, but here is one more shot that I felt like writing this evening. I have not counted how many computers but I know it's a lot.

“Bravo Amigo, you are a Primo Expert Sensor Dynamic Virtuoso Alchemist and this your Octo Endevour is an Arc de Triomphe of undeniable Genius for which I shall elevate you in honor to the title of Senator and your Super V.I.P Secondos and V.I.P. Companions to Centurions for you are all now Champion Masters and Ambassadors of my Zircon empire with all its outlying Constellations, Super Constellations, Novae and Super Novae, including my territories in the Capricorn, Magellan and Scorpio systems and of course at my home planet Saturn of the Carnelian nebula, you will be welcomed as Turbostars Par Excellence because your Super Strong Play has just accomplished to Touch and soften my Diablo soul with your Aurora of Classic Sensory Voice and Presto tempo mixed with Alto Allegro that filled me with Uno Solar Star Brute Force dreamlike Astral experience creating effects of Coronas and Spectrums in my Impos Royal spacious mind” said an out of breath Alpha Solar King Boris - the Commander & Legend of the Stratos and Premiere Diplomat of Sierra Leone after attending a musical at the American Mensa auditorium in Montreux with his Cougar Escort and highly Intelligent Executive Travel Partner Alexandra - America’s beautiful former Superstar Olympiad Beach Belle of the triplanetary metropoles Atlanta, Miami and Vancouver - who is worshipped for her famous Opal shaped Bistro eyes, Mini pouting lips and Piccolo nose wearing a long Agate necklace with a large Ruby stone that tantalizingly enhances her Micro Supermini outfit of Jade and Tiny Emeralds with Turquoise Sapphire laced stockings suspendered by Diamonds and complemented with dark Obsidian and Onyx shoes made from rare Barracuda skin caught only in the perilous Premiere Aquamarine Coral waters of the deep sea caverns in the Condor region of Jupiter where the Beluga prowl – tears of Pearls had welled up as his highness, Monarch and Dominator of the known Universe had listened to Grand-Master Galileo’s Capella from Roma sing the final Aria of a Concerto named Disney’s Magic Castle written by Cosmic Merlin a Graduate of Modena Schachschule Academy at Jupiter where he had received Mondial Accolades for his Solo musical opus on the history of mankind named “Mystery and Mythos of the Savant Royale aka Aadvark 2 Robot” a Prelude of many more works to come in the future, who now in his Septennial decade has become a true musical Titan and Traveler of the Cosmos and Galaxy with a very different style and repertoire to what his former Professor and Mentor, Maestro Igor Mephisto, son of Nigel the Short of Berlin, Alaska performs, whose compositions have a much more Marauder and Rapier like Conquistador style that sounds more like Granite and Quartz with many Forte and Super Forte staccato that can really grate our Hypermodern Sensors when compared to the Super Classical that his Excellence of the Regency just heard which was Elite and very Avant Garde or so we the underprivileged readers of the News of the Big Bang Sun are told.

“Hey Beryl my luv and Plymate, will’ya put the sonic kettle on!”

Fernando eat your heart out!! :P

Best regards
Nick
