there is some slight damage to the board ..still... the Sphinx Commander is a fairly rare computer
you can tell from the sellers description that he is pretty knowledgeable
Looks like a Commander to me
i have one that looks just like it
but the model number would tell us more
my Commander is model number 3018
the 40 + is 3038
40 Something Regards
Steve
Maybe I am blind but I don't see a model number on it.
there is none
thats why i said the model number would tell us more

I am assuming the Lang's have Adversary on them. Mine does?
Lang?
i think the only wooden CXG Lang programmed was the 3000
the regular 40 and 50 modules have Adversary written on them
dont own a 40+ or 50+ so i cant say whats written on them
actually the 40+ is much rarer then the Commander

there are two versions of the Commander
one version is a set of removable modules sold in a board with the Sphinx Commander Sticker(which looks like the one in the auction) and the other version is fixed in the 3008 board (no removable modules)which is what the wiki is showing
I have both versions and both have the Commander Sticker
are there any photos of the 40+/50+ modules?
the photos on the wiki for the 40+/50+ look like the regular 40/50 modules to me
VERY rare Fidelity Grandmaster Voice
basically the same computer as the Decorator Challenger but the housing is slightly different(no legs for example)
pieces dont look original
Really guys who keeps bidding ridiculus amounts of money for chess computers. I bid a fair $390 usd for a CXG Commander 2.04 board that was far from mint aesthetic and electronic condition. I‘m not upset I didn‘t win but am upset about the winning price of over $1200 usd. Now really people who can justify paying such a price for a not guaranteed working unit with no refunds at all. We are artificially increasing of these computers by competing against each other on ebay. We need to agree on prices amongst ourselves beforehand and stick to fair limits and have some kind of a system based of what each collector most desires and who got what last etc.
