I missed it, just not willing to bid that high. A couple of things bugged me.
Firstly, the seller stopped short of saying in his blurb that it is in fully
working condition. Secondly, there's a problem with the box. The serial
numbers match, but the box is for a Mach3, not Mach4. The seller was
adamant that the box was original and that Fidelity used earlier boxes.
But the example Mach4 shown on www.schachcomputer.info has a
Mach4 box,ie, a Mach4 strip over it. I'm wondering if the serial number
on the eBay one has been carefully removed with steam and transferred
over.
It's gone now, either way. Off I go on a ten year wait for the next
one to appear.

PS Steve, I know you've got a fully fledged Mach4 and an upgraded one.
Could this eBay one be an upgrade in your opinion?

my Original Mach IV is in its original Mach IV Box and of course the 6110 serial number
my upgraded Mach IV also has the correct serial number but i dont have a box for it
The Seller is one of the top 3 collectors in the world so i imagine if it were an upgrade he would mention that fact and not conceal it
he must be overjoyed at the price

P.S.it seems the original Mach I does not get this same level of bidding respect
the seller cant give it away for a paltry $250

I'd take it but I've got one. Paid peanuts for mine as a bare board,
it's rough but it works.

Re: Excel Mach4
The box is original. The Mach IV had an early serial nr and Fidelity used old boxes. My Mach IV har serial no 002 (who the .... beat me to nr 001??) and it also was delivered in a Mach III box.Larry wrote:http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/301847969232 ... EBIDX%3AIT
