Messphisto Retro Board.

Post by Bryan Whitby »

I recently made a fun retro board to play against the Mephisto chess engines that run on the MESS emulator.

Moves are inputted via a mapped out Dell USB keyboard connected to an old Windows XP tablet.

Out of fun I have christened it Messphisto.

Here are a couple of photos of it and under them there is a link to a video of it :-)

Thanks Michael

It gives me something to do now I am retired due to prostate cancer but I will someday get around to building a Mysticum, honest!

Have you heard that our Spanish counterparts have released a new emulator program called MessChess (not the same as the original).

It contains ROMS from the Fidelity Elite Avante Garde 2, 7, 10 and 11 plus a few more like the Fidelity Excellence Voice. Also a host of new Mephisto ones.

Here are a few screenshots.

Regards
Bryan

Hi Bryan,

excellent work of the Spanish chess community - I didn't visit Meca since weeks, so your usefull info was new to me. There are so much Roms/devices included - incredible...
There's so much information included too and the design is overwhelming...

I'm absolutely impressed!

In case you need any help with Mysticum give me an indication...

Regards, Michael
